For those of you who didn't know my husband, Ken was a good man. He enjoyed life ... golf, cigars, good scotch, vacations in sunny places, UK basketball, playing piano, Jimmy Buffett, and most importantly spending time with his family and friends. He was the smartest person I know and would be there in an instant if you needed advice or help in some way. His life was cut short this past November from a sudden fatal heart rhythm, which we later learned was caused by cardiac sarcoidosis. Laura, Karen, Patrick, and I, (and our entire family) miss him terribly and think of him everday. We wanted to do something to honor him and celebrate his life while helping researchers come closer to finding the cause and treatment of this disease. We felt it only fitting to host a golf tournament - one that he would have been proud of and excited to play in. When trying to think of a name we decided to borrow the words of Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett that Ken often quoted, "It's only half past twelve, but I don't care - It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere!"
Thank you for caring, Michele |
